Invisalign has many advantages over braces that you may be aware of, but what is the process and treatment time like compared to traditional orthodontics? Thankfully, Dr. Franz, an expert dentist in RiNo, has the answers to these questions as well as a few others to provide you with necessary and beneficial information before starting your treatment. Read on to learn more about Invisalign clear braces.

What is the Invisalign Process Like?

First, you’ll schedule a visit with Dr. Franz. He will take some high-tech 3-D images of your smile to digitally show you how your teeth will shift into alignment. After, your custom-made clear-plastic aligners will be created based on images and impressions of your smile. You’ll wear each aligner in your series until your treatment is complete. Once your teeth have been straightened, Dr. Franz will provide you with a comfortable retainer to wear to make sure your teeth are permanently aligned.

How Long Does the Invisalign Process Take?

Many patients choose Invisalign because on average, its treatment time is shorter than traditional braces. Typically, the process will take 10 to 18 months, but this will depend on the original position of your teeth and how committed you are to wearing your aligners. Each aligner should be worn for about 2 weeks, for 20 to 22 hours a day. While this sounds long, these discreet, removeable, and comfy aligners are a breeze to wear.

While this may sound like a cop-out, the price of Invisalign in River North is hard to estimate. The price will depend on a number of factors like how misaligned your teeth are, the condition of your oral health, your treatment time, and whether you need repairs or replacements. At RiNo Dental, we do everything we can to make your treatment as affordable as possible. We even offer financing to give you the dental care that you want and need without taking a big chunk of your hard-earned cash.

How Do I Care for My Clear Braces?

Although clear braces are much more comfortable and easier to care for than traditional braces, you should still know some tips to keep them clean. For a successful treatment process, be sure to clean your aligners once a day using a toothbrush, clear hand soap, and room temperature water. Using hot water can warp the plastic, which can impact the effectiveness of your treatment—bummer! Also, be sure to clean your teeth after eating and before putting your aligners back in. These clear aligners can actually stain, making Invisalign in RiNo not so invisible after all. Lastly, when cleaning, put towels on your sink and floor incase you drop them. Keeping your aligners safe and intact will save you time and money in the future.
